Endgame a classic play by Beckett. Required reading for all Irishmen.
-
Picture of Dorian Gray is another classic. This one from Oscar Wilde. Totally different from "The Importance of Being Earnest" but equally wonderful. Highly recommended.
-
Wonderful book by Patrick Kavanagh tells the story of a rural Irish farmer's daily desires. Not so much a story as a series of stories but its a wonderful work from Kavanaghand meaningfully different from his well known poems.
-
Great novel by Flann O'Brien. Highly recommended.
-
Brendan Behan is freaking hysterical. This includes all his work at plays. If you enjoy them, I also recommend Confessions of an Irish Rebel a cool book detailing stories of Behan in prison and beyond.
-
Super book describing the troubles from 1966 through 1998. Stays close to the facts without taking sides which is important when examining events in Northern Ireland during the time.
-
Must have collection of poems from W.B. Yeats another fine Irishman.
