Kevin Doohan Another excellent athlete project from Red Bull is featured in the video below.I'm continually amazed by the creativity and excellent execution that the Red Bull team delivers. I mean...check out the Giants jerseys on the riders in the video when they pulled into McCovey Cove for the SF Giants game. A small touch but characteristic of how Red Bull pays attention to getting all of the details right to make for an incredible outcome.
Footage from this event will be included in the New World Disorder mountain biking video: DUST & BONES (link to trailer), releasing October 1st. Which, by the way, will be the most awesome mountain biking video EVER. The footage also generated meaningful local impressions in San Francisco. The barge was featured live on the jumbotron during the SF Giants game and was shown on television during the local broadcast of the game. Finally, the footage will continue to generate buzz online as viewers find it, enjoy it, and share it with friends.
From the Red Bull press release
As part of the Red Bull Stumps, Clumps and Jumps tour, riders Paul Basagoitia, Brandon Semenuk, Wayne Goss, Robbie Bourdon, and brothers Andreau and Lluis Lacondeguy had their vision brought to life. After loading 1800 cubic yards of dirt onto a 290-foot long barge, builders took over a week to shape the jumps and build the scaffolding so that the riders could backflip, tailwhip, and barspin their way into the history books.
The barge set sail daily between August 28-30th, making stops in front of iconic landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, the Port of San Francisco, and even outside of AT&T Park where a near capacity crowd at the Giants baseball game turned their heads and flooded the walkway in amazement just to see what this floating dirt jump course was all about.
"I still can't believe we pulled this off," said rider Paul Basagoitia, in awe. "This is simply one of the coolest things I have seen in my career and is definitely the most innovative shoot I have ever been a part of."
I love my job. LOVE it. Every day I get to create or share marketing with a rich, passionate, innovative soul. Marketing with meaning is business as usual at Red Bull.
