I ordered the pair pictured below on a business trip to NYC in April 2012 and received them in mid May. In April, the suede LunarGrands were available at several stores but leather LunarGrands were only available in one place, the Cole Hann SoHo store. They can be purchased online now at colehaan.com if you like them as much as me and want to own a pair.

These SB Dunks are a takeoff on the original "Entourage: Lights Out" dunks that were SUPER limited and created for the team who worked on the HBO series Entourage as a gift for when the series wrapped. You can check out the original Entourage Dunk design here. Sneakerheads quickly named this Dunk "Nontourage" to differentiate it from the original while acknowledging the inspiration. The Nontourage colorway differs from the Entourage colorway in the following respects:

The original Entourage has a custom Entourage tongue tag. The Nontourage has standard black Nike SB tongue tag.

The original Entourage has custom Entourage insoles. The left shoe has a picture of an Entourage clapper board and the right shoe has "The End" printed on the heel. The Nontourage has standard black Nike SB insoles.

The Entourage dunk has a black sole and contrasty black stitching attaching the midsole to the upper. The Nontourage has a gum sole and white stitching attaching the midsole to the upper.

The all volt everything colorway is obscenely bright. My photos don't do it justice. Check the photos at kicksonfire.com for a more accurate representation of the color.

I ended up copping these from an eBay seller in April 2012 for the retail launch price. Just couldn't get them out of my head and @jdoohan really liked them too. It isn't many times where I pass on a shoe and then later decide it's a must have but these fit the bill.

In the end, I chose an all elephant print upper with the entire upper (except the swoosh) done in gray and the swoosh done in red elephant print. The lining and the stitching on the heel tab are red. The midsole, and midsole branding are red. The outsole is translucent red although it is hard to see the translucent quality when it is sitting beneath a red midsole. I love how these came out.

The shoe is inspired by the black and tan drink popular in America where pale ale and stout (usually Harp & Guinness) are combined. The colorway starts out in black suede in the heel and transitions to brown leather and suede on the toe with a vignette in the mid-panel showing the transition. The midsole, swoosh, and heel tab are all the color of a creamy head on Guinness and the kicks have a special insole with an image of a black and tan printed from the heel to the arch. I copped these direct from my "secret store" and I was psyched to get a pair before they sold out.

The controversy was because, in fact, the Black and Tans were a British paramilitary force brought into Ireland in 1920 to make Ireland "hell for the rebels to live in". The Black and Tans were well known for brutal attacks on civilians. Their tactics were violent, cruel, and merciless and they were intensely hated by the Irish because of their actions. Some Irish groups complained to Nike when this shoe was released. Nike ended up issuing an apology. I'm Irish and I like the "Black and Tan" Dunk Lows. I know the drink is popular in America and I know Nike was simply trying to do something cool and Irish. Was it stupid in some respects? Of course it was but Nike's intentions were honorable. The kicks look good and I couldn't sleep on the colorway regardless of the controversy.

I'm digging these. The colorway really reminds me of Red Bull. The sole is vulcanized with old royal blue all around the outside and with a gum elephant print sole with inlaid red Air Jordan logo. The upper is all in stealth grey with nubuck on the toe and in the middle of the upper. The toebox, lace stays, ankle collar, and heel are all soft suede in stealth grey. The swoosh is stealth grey elephant print (gotta love elephant print). And the laces are old royal/stealth mix. The Air Jordan logo is embroidered on the heel in old royal.

The kicks have a galaxy print all over the upper and on the lining. It looks kind of like tye-dye to me which appeals to my Deadhead soul. The plastic parts around the heel and midsole are glossy black or silver. The swoosh is metallic silver and the soles are glow in the dark. They're part of the "space exploration" pack that was released for Nike player editions leading up to the 2012 NBA All Star Game. In fact, Kobe wore this model and colorway when he played in the 2012 All Star Game.
