This book is a winner. Written by my good friend Bob Gilbreath, it's filled with real world examples of how marketers can make their campaigns and programs useful. Making marketing programs is possible, it's compelling, and it might even be required for future success. Interruption with your message works for sales in the short term but it doesn't build loyalty. Marketing programs that connect with consumers and deliver true value are what build loyalty for a brand. Bob gets it. Reading this book and gaining insight into his perspective is time well spent.

This may be my favorite book related to social media and culture change. I've been following Clay since 2000 when I was taken by his Content Shifts to the Edges article in 2001 (I think 2001, could've been 2000). I was working at move.com at the time where we aggregated real estate listings from across the USA. The effort of bring all the data to us, standardizing it, and publishing it was quite expensive. Shirky, talking about Napster at the time, explained that what was coming was distributed content that could be searched for and accessed from anywhere. It made sense and it influenced my perspective as I led product marketing for professional products at move.com and beyond. So...when this book was released, I was ON it. This book is dogeared, underlined, and generally flat out beaten up because I've spent so much time with it. Read it now. You won't regret it.

Groundswell is a great book. I especially recommend it for marketers who still aren't sure about the impact of social media or the change that has happened in terms of consumer behavior and influence. This isn't a possibility...it's today's reality. Technology didn't cause it. Technology enabled it. Now we have a true massive, cultural change happening. Groundswell does a great job beginning to explain it.

Loved this book by Rex Briggs. Should eb required reading for brand managers everywhere. Sensible, results-focused observations on what works in advertising. I've been on panels with Rex in the past. Smart guy, well worth getting to know. his work.

Loved it. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Another results focused advertising and marketing book. This time from Nick Wreden. Amazon suggested this one for me and it is a winner.

Nice book from David Verklin. Elementary for digital marketers but could be very enlightening for folks outside the ad biz.

Great book. Explores the psychology of trading up. People will cut costs on many items in order to spend large on others. How do people make these decisions? What impacts their choices? Interesting stuff.

LIked this book. Was sent to me by IMC2 as part of the IMC2 insight series. Great stories relating to newer marketing tactics and the concept of the consumer increasingly being in control. We need to work differently people...

The brand marketing classic. None better than Aaker's book.

I guess you either love or hate the lovemarks books. I love em. I love the design, I love the stories, and I love the visual representations of the many brands that consumers choose demonstrating their "loyalty beyond reason".
